DECATUR, Ga. - The 2025-26 athletic season kicks off on Friday, August 29 as the Agnes Scott soccer program hosts Berry College at 5:00 p.m. to get their campaign rolling. The Scotties will feature a roster packed with newcomers, and complimented by several of their top players from a year ago, when they finished 2-13 with a 1-7 record in conference play. 

One of the key components to becoming a more competitive program this season was roster depth, and third-year head coach Jared Rose addressed this in the offseason by bringing in a dozen new players for the Scotties. Leading the charge offensively for the Scotties is senior Iris Ray, who led the team in points, assists, shots, and shots on goal a season ago. Defensively, junior Olivia Rosario returns in goal for the Scotties. Rosario played every minute in goal last season for the Scotties, registering 201 saves, good for 3rd amongst all NCAA DIvision III goalkeepers. She also ranked 4th in the nation with 13.4 saves per game.

Other key returners include Piper Martinsen, who started all 15 contests during the 2024 season, and regular contributors Ashlee Parkey (14 starts, 1250 minutes played), Jazmin Garcia Castro (8 starts, 601 minutes played) and Sadie Mansfield (7 starts, 7171 minutes played). Teresa Ariza, Darcy Anderson (6 starts) and Laura Damonte also return for the Scotties. Damonte sat out the 2024 season with injury and is excited to return to the field, along with sophomore Jonah Wood, who focused her first-year campaign on her basketball career, but is going to be a two-sport athlete for the Scotties this season.

Newcomers for the Scotties include Virginia State transfer Damaris Gaines, who hails from nearby Lilburn, Ga. Fellow graduate student Maahla Fofack joins the Scotties as well, along with first-year students Mariana Serment-Alvarez, Merary "MJ" Jimenez-Garcia, Tigui Diallo, Mimi Sterling, Elise Brown, Kaia Middleton, Abi Pollet, Kyndall House and Alessandra McCalep.

The Scotties out-of-conference opponents include previous opponents Berry, Oglethorpe, Warren Wilson, Salem College, Toccoa Falls, Mississippi University for Women, and Trinity Baptist. It also features first-ever match-ups against Regent University and Allen University. As members of the Collegiate Conference of the South, the Scotties will look to improve on their 8th place finish from a year ago, hoping to reach the CCS Playoffs, which are reserved for the top 6 teams. They kick off their conference season on Saturday, September 20 against LaGrange College at home.
