SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Head Coach
Seth Ledford and the Agnes Scott cross country team challenged themselves today with a meet on the road at NCAA Division I USC-Upstate, placing 16th in a field of 19 teams, which included over 10 NCAA Division I programs, and nationally-ranked #6 Emory University from Division III, who won the team title with 34 points, as they took 4 of the top 10 spots in the 5k race.
For the Scotties,
Rachel Arwood was the runner of the day, clocking in at a personal best of 20:30.1 to place 118th in the field of almost 200. Following closely behind were
Mari Walsh with a season-best and personal best 21:21.6. That betters her previous best by over a minute.
Jane Scanlan-Emigh continued her strong campaign in 2024, finishing just behind her teammates in 21:37.0, while
Lauren Miller (21:39.1) and
Jordan Schrage (22:56.8) finished off the scoring for the Scotties.
The Scotties will take two weeks off of racing to train and prepare for the Collegiate Conference of the South Championships. The team will travel to Jackson, Mississippi for the second time this season to face off with the rest of the CCS schools. The conference meet will be held on Friday, November 1 at Belhaven University. The women's race will begin at 9:00 a.m. CST and wil be streamed live
