CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Agnes Scott College kicked off their 2025 Cross Country campaign as they traveled to Chattanooga for the season-opening Mountainside Stride, hosted by Covenant College. Five Scotties made their season debuts, led by junior
Jane Scanlan-Emigh, who finished in 10th place to lead the Scotties and get her season off to a strong start.
The host Scots led the women's race with 31 points, followed by Sewanee with 58 points, Bryan with 73, Maryville with 88 and the Scotties in 5th place with 116 points on the 6 kilometer course.
Scanlan-Emigh finished the course in 25:43.8, averaging an impressive 6:53 per mile. Graduate student
Charlotte Cooksey was the next across the finish line for the Scotties (28:50.8, 32nd place), followed by
Jordan Schrage (31:23.8, 36th place), sophomore
Anissa Brailsford (38:18.8, 42nd place) and first-year
Elise Brown (38:28.6, 43rd place).Â
The Scotties will have two weeks to prepare for their next meet, as they head to Dahlonega. Ga. for the UNG Invitational on Friday, Sept. 12.
