HAMPTON, Ga. - Agnes Scott cross country competed in the Clark Atlanta University Panther Invitational today at the Nash Farms Battlefield in Hampton, Ga. The Scotties had their best finish of the season, as they ended the day in second place out of five teams competing. Columbus State ran away with the title, as they had five of the top six finishers in the race. The only thing preventing them from a clean sweep of the Top 5 was Agnes Scott junior,
Jane Scanlan-Emigh, who once again led the Scotties, finishing in 4th place in 22:06.4 for the 5k.
Charlotte Cooksey was the next Scottie to finish the race, finishing in 10th place (23:46.5), while
Jordan Schrage (13th, 25:24.1),
Lilybeth Sanchez (20th, 29:11.4) and Jasmine Ziller (31st, 43:44) were the other scorers on the day for the Scotties.
The Scotties would finish the day with 76 points, placing them just ahead of the hosts, Clark Atlanta (80), as well as Georgia Southwestern (88) and Fort Valley State (105).
Agnes Scott will enjoy a short rest before taking part in the USC-Upstate Invitational next weekend, hitting the starting line at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 18.
