HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Agnes Scott College competed this morning at the Collegiate Conference of the South Cross Country Championships, finishing in 5th Place out of 7 teams competing.
Jane Scanlan-Emigh led the way for the Scotties once again, finishing in 12th place to garner 2nd Team All-Conference Honors for the second consecutive season.
Asbury (32 points) repeated as conference champs, as Bailey Gassmann finished in first place, running the 6k course in 23:28.48, easily outpacing second-place finisher, Lucie Demers of Covenant, by 26 seconds. Covenant (42 points) would finish the meet in second-place for the second year in a row. Maryville (73 points), in their last year in the CCS, finished in third, followed by Piedmont (129), Agnes Scott (137), Huntingdon (146) and Belhaven (152).
For the Scotties, Scanlan-Emigh ran a season-best in the 6k, finishing in 12th place with a time of 25:37.25. Running a personal best for the Scotties was
Charlotte Cooksey, who came in 25th with a time of 27:34.27, followed by teammate,
Jordan Schrage (27th, 29:44.71). Rounding out the scoring for the Scotties were
Lilybeth Sanchez (43rd, 35:29.46) and
Anissa Brailsford (44th, 36:30.61).Â
The Scotties will wrap up their season in two weeks, when they travel to the NCAA Division III South Regional on November 15, 2025. The race will take place in Salem, Va.
