Box Score 2 The Agnes Scott volleyball team opened the season today at the Huntingdon Jubilee in Montgomery, Alabama. The Scotties lost to Birmingham Southern 0-3 (14-25, 14-25, 22-25) this afternoon and followed up with a 3-2 win (13-25, 13-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13) over Huntingdon College later in the evening.
Senior Morgan Bender and sophomore Natali Rendon led the Scotties' attack. Bender had five kills against Birmingham Southern and added four more against Huntingdon. Rendon started with only one kill against Birmingham Southern and led the Scotties with 16 kills against Huntingdon. Transfer student Lauren Aikens added in a total of 9 kills and freshman Miranda Arnold added five kills. Shelli Sherman led the team in digs with 23 for the day. First-year Kayleigh McCrary led the team in assists with 42 total.
The Scotties will return to action tomorrow as they face Mississippi College at 3 p.m. and LaGrange College at 5 p.m.
