The Agnes Scott College Basketball team defeated Salem College, 41-33, this afternoon on the Scotties' home court.  Senior Arielle Register had a game high of 16 points. Genefine Sapateh led with 13 rebounds and Morgan Cooper picked up 12 rebounds.

The game started out slow as both teams had trouble hitting the basket. Agnes Scott led by 3, 16-13, going into half-time making 20% of their shots from the floor compared to 16.1% by Salem. 

The teams battled through the second half with Agnes Scott gaining a nine point lead eight minutes in, however, with five minutes remaining Salem came back to within three points. Several successful free throw shots in the last two minutes helped pull Agnes Scott into a comfortable eight point lead and win.

Overall Agnes Scott shot 21.4% from the floor compared to Salem's 19.4%. from the free throw line Agnes Scott shot 58.3% compared to Salem's 40% and the team's were even on rebounds with 47 apiece.

The Scotties will return to action on Thursday January 24th as they face Covenant at 6 p.m.
