LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Agnes Scott (1-3, 0-0 Collegiate Conference of the South) hit the road for their first CCS matchup of the season, as they face off with longtime rival, Covenant (4-8, 0-0 CCS) on Thursday. The Scots will host the 1pm/3pm doubleheader.
The Scots come in with some momentum, having won 3 of their last 4 contests. Last weekend, they swept Berea before a split with Brevard. The Scotties will be taking the field for the first time since facing off with NAIA powerhouse, Truett McConnell, on February 17. The Scotties are led offensively by freshman standout,
Kaylee Hickman, who is batting .545 through the first four contests. The team is batting an impressive .365 and all ten Scotties have at least one hit through the first four games.
Taylor Selby has also come on strong, batting .455.
Kenzie Beaudoin leads the RBI count with 5, followed closely by Kyra Horsnby, who has logged 4 RBIs.
On the mound,
Bryn Greenwood is tops in ERA with a 5.73 and has struck out seven batters in 11 innings. Hickman has also seen time on the mound, striking out 5.
Covenant leads the all-time series with Agnes Scott, 23-9. Last season, the Scots swept Agnes Scott in Decatur to finish the season. The teams finished 7th and 8th, respectively, in the CCS. Both teams will be looking to finish insid the Top 6 and qualify for the CCS Championships.
