WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Agnes Scott softball team continues their 2025 campaign with two twinbills on the road. On Friday, they face off with former GSAC and USA South foe, Salem College, before finishing off the short trip with two games against another former conference opponent, Brevard.
The Spirits (1-2) traveled to Decatur a year ago, where the Scotties (0-4) picked up the sweep, winning by scores of 9-1 and 3-2. Brevard and Agnes Scott split their doubleheader last season at Oakhurst Park. In the overall series, Brevard holds a 10-4 edge over the Scotties. Brevard's only action so far this season was a doubleheader sweep against Collegiate Conference of the South's Wesleyan (0-4). Brevard picked up a 12-0 win in the first contest before a tight 9-6 win in the second game.
The Scotties are coming off of sweeps to two very strong programs. In their first outing on the road, they faced off with NAIA Truett McConnell, who a year ago qualified for the postseason with a 19-9 record in the very competitive Appalachian Athletic Conference in the NAIA. The Scotties then hosted then #15 Berry (7-1), one of the top teams in NCAA Division III. The Scotties had the tying run on first in the bottom of the 7th, but fell in Game 1, 6-4.
