Box Score GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Agnes Scott College basketball team opened up their 2021-22 season yielding an 84-47 loss to the Bruins of Bob Jones University at the Davis Field House.
The Bruins started with an early lead with a three-pointer. Both teams would trade baskets as the score remained balanced for the first few minutes of the first quarter. The Bruins then took a seven (7) point lead highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers to increase their lead. The Bruins ended the first quarter strong and more than doubled their lead over the Scotties with a 26-12 score after the first 10 minutes.
As the second quarter got underway, the Scotties began to chip away at the Bruins lead it. The Bruins took a 42-26 lead at the half.
The Bruins continued their run in the third quarter. BJU added 30 points in the fourth to cruise to a 84-47 win over the Scotties.
Erika McLeod led the Scotties with 11 points. Taylor Brooks, Sha Sweat and Amelia Osborne all contributed six (6) points each in the effort. Next up, the Scotties will travel to Conway, South Carolina to take on Costal Carolina on Tuesday, November 9th at 5:00 p.m.
