Scotties Set New Season Highs in Loss to Huntingdon

Box Score

MONTGOMERY, Ala.—A season-best effort from Agnes Scott women's basketball was not enough to slow down Huntingdon College, as the Hawks used a strong third quarter to power past the Scotties.

Agnes Scott scored a season-high 31 points, including 18 points coming after halftime but the Hawks depth won out in the end. Senior Musumaulai Galoia (Hephzibah, Ga.) recorded her first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Galoia was the spur behind a relentless rebounding effort for the Scotties, finishing off a weekend in which the visitors gathered 17 more rebounds than the Hawks for the series. Half of Galoia's 12 caroms came on the offensive glass, while Jasmine Thompson (Chicago, Ill.) grabbed four offensive rebounds and 10 boards overall.

Huntingdon was consistent for much of the night, totaling at least 15 points in each quarter but it was their 25 points after halftime that allowed them to pull away for good.

The Hawks were led by Wyatt Bak with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting. Shaniah Lowery also finished in double-figures with 11.

Agnes Scott first-year Erika McLeod (Snellville, Ga.) continued a strong start to the season with seven points and eight rebounds.

The Scotties will look to finally host their long-awaited home opener on Friday night when rival Wesleyan comes to town for a 6 p.m. start.
