Wolves Overcome Scotties Late 64-57

Box Score

DECATUR, Ga.—Emma Olson's (Austin, Texas) stellar second-half effort was not enough to keep a three-possession lead from slipping away in the final minutes in a 64-57 loss to Wesleyan College. The sophomore forward finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds, much of the production coming in the second half, but Wesleyan went on an 8-0 over the final minute to shock the Scotties.

Agnes Scott remains winless on the season at 0-18, while the Wolves put a check in the win column for the first time at 1-17.

The Scotties knew they would have an uphill battle with a short bench due to injuries, but Agnes Scott responded well in the first half. Agnes Scott seemed to control the tempo for the entire half, building a lead as large as 12 and holding an eight-point advantage at halftime.

Wesleyan's three-point shooting improved in the second half and the Wolves pressure started to get to the Scotties as the game wore.

Due to foul trouble, Agnes Scott was limited to five players for the final four minutes and Wesleyan made its final move to complete the comeback. The Wolves outscored the Scotties 24-11 in the fourth quarter.

Natera Perkins and BreAsia Davis paced the Wesleyan offense with 16 points each.

Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) finished with 10 points for Agnes Scott.

The Scotties head to division-leading Berea (16-2, 9-0 USAS) this weekend for a USA South contest.
