Scotties Drop Non-Conference Tilt to Emory

Box Score

DECATUR, Ga.—Emory University women's basketball rolled past Agnes Scott College 64-19 at Woodruff Gymnasium on Tuesday night December 10. The Scotties were unable to ever get anything going on offense and the Eagles' depth proved pivotal from the opening tip. Emory improved to 7-2, while Agnes Scott dips to 0-9.

Agnes Scott senior Garis Grant (Charleston, S.C.) had a quietly efficient night with 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Grant was the only Scottie to ever find a rhythm on the offensive end as the Scotties made a season-low seven shots from the field with Grant making six of them.

Emory's Blair Ripley led all scorers with 14 points off the bench in only 18 minutes of action. Tori Huggins finished a rebound off a double-double, ending with 10 points to go with nine boards. Ten of the 11 players who played at least a minute scored for the Eagles.

For the second consecutive game, an opponent was the aggressor on the offensive glass as Emory kept possessions alive with 21 offensive boards compared to only 26 totals for the home side. The Eagles also distributed the ball well with 20 assists on 27 makes.

Agnes Scott finishes out its first-semester schedule next Wednesday when they host USA South Conference foe Huntingdon at 4:30 p.m.
