Scotties Fall to Hawks, 66-45

DECATUR, Ga. - A strong first quarter by the visiting Huntingdon Hawks proved the difference-maker, as the Hawks (18-6, 9-4 USA South) took down the Agnes Scott Scotties (2-17, 1-12 USA South) in USA South Athletic Conference action, 66-45.

In the first quarter of action, the Hawks raced to a 20-4 lead on the Scotties, who struggled to get shots off against the strong defense of Huntingdon. The rest of the contest was a close affair, with the Hawks outscoring the Scotties by only 5 for the rest of the game. Agnes Scott pushed the tempo throughout, despite playing with only 8 players. They forced 14 turnovers and also blocked 5 shots, all by leading scorer Garis Grant, who had another strong outing with 22 points and 12 rebounds to go along with her 5 blocks.

Jalexis Teemer also had a strong game offensively for the Scotties, scoring 14 points and dishing out 3 assists. Juliette Harp led the Hawks with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocks. 

The Scotties will finish their regular season at home on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. against LaGrange College.
