Lions Drop Scotties, 62-36

DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott basketball outrebounded their opponent for the second straight game, but were forced into 27 turnovers in a 62-36 loss to second-place Piedmont (16-5, 9-1 USA South) today at home. Garis Grant led the way for the Scotties (2-13, 1-8 USA South) with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Long distance shooting was a big difference maker in the game, as Piedmont connected on 8 3-pointers in the contest, while Agnes Scott went 0-for-13 from beyond the arc. The Scotties outrebounded the Lions, 37-25, with Grant's 10 rebounds giving her the tenth double-double of her first-year campaign. Anna Weimerskirch also pulled down 8 rebounds to go along with 7 points.

The Scotties return to action on February 3, with a road contest against first-place Maryville College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
