Box Score 4 MACON, Ga. - The Agnes Scott College softball team picked up an important win in their first conference series this past weekend, taking Game 2 against Salem College, 6-2, after dropping the opener, 4-0. Salem (19-13, 3-1 Great South Athletic Conference) leads the conference in the regular season standings.
In the victory over the Spirits, the Scotties (5-21, 1-3 GSAC) rallied behind the strong pitching performance of Molly Baker, who pitched a complete game 4-hitter. For the game, she had 4 RBIs.
In the series with Wesleyan on April 13, the Scotties narrowly dropped Game 1, 3-2, before being defeated, 7-4, in Game 2 to give Wesleyan the sweep. The Wolves (10-22, 2-2 GSAC) now sit in second place in the conference standings.
The Scotties will have the chance to improve their standing this weekend, as they travel to North Carolina for a Saturday double header with Salem College. First pitch is scheduled for noon on the campus of the Spirits.
