DECATUR, Ga. - At Oakhurst Park today, the Agnes Scott College softball team played their home opener after ten games on the road, splitting with Covenant College (5-4-1), winning the first game, 8-4, before dropping a defensive battle in Game 2, 3-1.

In the first game, Jordan Josey and Kristin Root both homered in a 5-run 3rd inning to put the Scotties on top for good, and Casey Arnold picked up the win on the mound.

In Game 2, Molly Baker pitched a complete game, but Covenant was able to keep the Scotties from reaching the plate aside from a Kayla Trumbull run off of a Jessica Costero RBI single.
