Box Score The Agnes Scott softball team defeated Finlandia University this afternoon in an exciting 3-2 win in Game nine of the GSAC Tournament and will advance to tomorrow's championship round.
Finlandia started off with a home run by Alexis Lawley. The score remained at 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth when Agnes Scott pulled ahead with two runs. Junior Kat Riale got on base with a single. Junior Aimee McKibbin brought her home with a triple. Junior Alyssa Millikin reached first on an error by right field bringing in McKibbin unearned. The Scotties scored their third run in the bottom of the sixth. Julia Blattner hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in Ashley Monsrud. Finlandia scored another home run with no runners on base in the top of the seventh from Amanda Youker. The Lions struck out giving the Scotties the win.
Riale hit 1-for-4 with one run. McKibbin hit 1-of-2 with one run and one RBI and a stolen base and Millikin hit 1-of-3 with one RBI. Julia Blattner also had an RBI for the Scotties.
On the mound, first-year Alliyah Williams got her third win. She pitched 5 innings, allowing three hits, one run and two walks while striking out four. First-year Holly Jones pitched one inning and struck out two batter.
