The Agnes Scott softball team concluding the weekend at the Eagle Softball Bash hosted by Emory University with two wins over Spalding University and two losses to the undefeated Emory Eagles.

Sunday's games included a 6-3 win over Spalding followed by an 8-0 loss to Emory.  The Scotties scored five runs in the bottom of the second and one more in the bottom of the sixth.  Excellent fielding from the Scotties held Spalding to three runs on nine hits and four walks.

Junior catcher Kat Riale went three-for-three and batted in two RBIs. Junior Aimee McKibbin hit a triple and added two more RBIs. Juniors Ashley Monsrud and Megan Snipes added one RBI each. Sophomore Casey Arnold went two-for-two and Tiffany Cain and Alyssa Millikin added one hit each.

On the mound, First-year Holly Jones got her second win of the season. She pitched 6.2 innings allowing eight hits, three runs, two walks and struck out five. 

In their fourth game of the weekend, the Scotties lost to Emory 8-0 in five innings.  The loss brings the Scotties to a 7-7 record while the Eagles advance to 20-0.

The eagles scored all eight runs in the bottom of the third and held the scotties to two hits.  Riale and Monsrud both went one-for-two.  Monsrud hit a double in the top of the first and Riale singled in the top of the third.

On the mound, sophomore Casey Arnold got the loss. She pitched 2.2 innings allowing eight hits, six runs and striking out two.

The Scotties will head to Cocoa Beach, Fla. this week for a spring break trip facing Finlandia University, Wesleyan (Conn.), Meredith and Bloomfield. The next home game will be Monday March 17 against LaGrange College at 5 p.m.
