Grabbing two wins to advance to the tournament semifinals, the Scotties fought hard but were unable to get on the board against Huntingdon, falling by a score of 4-0.

Playing the remainder of the tournament to beat the weather Saturday, the Agnes Scott softball team faced the Pine Manor Gators to move on and continue to play in the tournament.

Handling the opening game with ease, the Scotties came out and opened up the game with a four-run inning. Earlier hits from Ashley Monsrud and Aimee McKibbin gave Agnes Scott the quick lead and all the runs the needed.

Those four were not enough for the Scotties as they continued their offensive-strike in 4, 5 and 6th innings, bringing the final to 10-2 and making an afternoon date with Salem.

Trying to keep their championship hopes alive, Agnes Scott faced a familiar foe in the Salem Spirits. Salem would jump to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first which held until bottom of the third when Megan Snipes scored on a single by Avi Greene, tying it up at one.

Solid hitting and costly error by the Spirits helped the Scotties tack on two more in the fifth and gave them their second win of the day, 3-1.

Facing the Huntingdon Lady Hawks for a chance to play Finlandia in the championship game, Agnes Scott had trouble finding an offensive rhythm against Huntingdon.

Attempting a comeback in the second half of the game, the Scotties had two on with one out but strong pitching from Huntingdon got the last outs on strikeouts swinging. Agnes Scott never was able to score and the Scotties fell, 4-0.
