Box Score 2 After rescheduling several times due to rainy and wet conditions, Agnes Scott and Huntingdon finally faced off in their second double header of the year. Huntingdon, now 14-0 in the conference and 21-9 overall, won both games, 7-3 and 11-3. Agnes Scott, currently ranked third in the conference, is now 8-6 in the conference and 13-11 overall.
The two teams held each other scoreless for the first four innings of game one. In the bottom of the fifth Huntingdon scored six runs on a few singles and then a homer with bases loaded. In the top of the sixth, sophomore Ashley Monsrud singled and got an RBI as senior Melanie Ennis rounded home plate. In the top of the seventh. Ennis doubled to center field brining in sophomore Megan Snipes and senior Avi Greene singled to right center to bring home Ennis. Ennis was 2-for-4 with two hits, two runs and one RBI. On the mound, Julia Blattner pitched 4.1 innings allowing eight hits, six runs and striking out one. First-year Casey Arnold pitched 1.2 innings allowing three hits and one run.
Game two started off a little quicker with both teams scoring two runs in the first inning. Sophomore Tiffany Cain doubled to center field to bring home Megan Snipes and Melanie Ennis. The game remained tied at the end of the second inning as each team scored once more. Snipes reached on an error by the pitcher allowing Kat Riale to score. Agnes Scott failed to score again while Huntingdon pulled ahead with eight more runs ending the game at the fifth inning. Cain went 2-for-3 with two hits and two RBIs. On the mound, Tiffany Cain pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing two hits and two runs. Casey Arnold finished up with 3.2 innings allowing 10 hits, nine runs and striking out one.
Agnes Scott will face LaGrange College in a non-conference match-up tomorrow in LaGrange at 5 p.m.
