Box Score 2 The Agnes Scott College softball team defeated Wesleyan College 23-0 in game one of a scheduled doubleheader this evening at Oakhurst Park in Decatur. Game two was halted in the middle of the fourth inning due to no lights on the field. The remaining innings will be played when Agnes Scott travels to Wesleyan on April 8.
Agnes Scott held Wesleyan to just two hits. Senior Avi Greene led the Scotties with four hits, five runs and two RBI's in five at bats. Sophomore Ashley Monsrud had three hits, one run and three RBI's in three at bats. Sophomore Tiffany Cain doubled in the first inning and totaled one hit, two runs and three RBI's in two at bats.
Greene leads the Scotties in hitting so far this season with a .447. Senior Melanie Ennis who went one for three with one hit, three runs, two RBI's tonight, is close behind with a .429 thus far.
On the mound, Tiffany Cain got her second win of the year. In three innings she allowed no hits, no runs, walked three and struck out two. First-year Casey Arnold pitched the last two innings allowing two hits, no runs and walking one.
Agnes Scott will play at Huntingdon this Saturday and will return home April 10 to face LaGrange at home at 6:00 p.m.
