LaGrange College's Kayla Folds limited the Agnes Scott Scotties to a pair of hits en route to a shutout victory in the opening game of the 2012 Great South Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Maryville College. First-years Tiffany Cain and Jenna Ward were the only Scotties to get a hit. The Panthers earned a 3-0 opening round win with a pair of runs in the second inning and an insurance run in their final at-bat.

Senior Chelsea Kremer pitched six innings for the Scotties allowing five hits and three runs while striking out four of 25 batters faced.  First-year Kaci Crawford pitched one inning allowing one hit and striking out one of four batters faced.

The Scotties will face Salem College tomorrow at 11 a.m. Agnes Scott defeated Salem in a doubleheader earlier this month however the Spirits should not be underestimated considering that the sixth seeded Spirits defeated third seeded Maryville College this morning.
