Agnes Scott's softball team had an offensive explosion Wednesday afternoon against Wesleyan College, sweeping a doubleheader by scores of 18-1 and 9-1 at Oakhurst Park.
In game one, Shivani Ghodadra went a perfect 4-for-4 with a homer, four RBIs, and four runs scored to pace the Scotties offense. ASC scored in all four innings in which it batted, plating two in the first, seven in the second, five in the third, and four in the fourth.
Every Scottie starter had at least one hit in the game. Ashley Monsrud and Jenna Ward each drove in three runs for the Scotties, while Megan Snipes and Avi Greene each crossed home three times.
Julia Blattner (2-1) earned the win for the Scotties with three perfect innings in the circle. Kaci Crawford pitched the final two innings in relief for the home squad.
In the nightcap, the Scotties scored in every inning again. A double off the fence in left center by Tiffany Cain plated the first two runs of the contest. An inning later, a squeeze bunt by Kat Riale scored Alysa Millikin with the third run of the game.
The Scotties added two runs in the third thanks in part to an RBI single by Asley Berger. Agnes Scott tacked on four more in the fourth thanks to RBI hits by Chelsea Kremer and Millikin.
Berger (3-3) earned the win for the Scotties with four innings of solid work in the circle, with Crawford recording the final three outs.
The Scotties will be back in action Saturday afternoon at LaGrange College.
