ATLANTA, Ga. (September 16, 2025) – For the second week in a row, Agnes Scott College was awarded for their hot start to the soccer season, as
Damaris Gaines was named Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Women's Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week. Meanwhile, her teammate,
Piper Martinsen, earned
Defensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Gabby Worthy of LaGrange College was also tabbed
Rookie of the Week.
The Scotties (2-2-1) have already equaled last season's win total, when they finished the season 2-13. In addition, they have scored 9 goals through 5 games. A season ago, they finished the 15 game season with only 8 goals. Gaines leads the Scotties with 4 goals on the young season, already eclipsing the leading scorer from a season ago. Martinsen, to her credit, also had one goal in 2024. The Scotties will be back in action on Wednesday, September 17, as they play host to Wesleyan College at 5:00 p.m. on the campus of Agnes Scott.
