Box Score DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott Scotties dropped a Collegiate Conference of the South match this afternoon at Byers Tennis Center, 9-0, to the visiting Covenant Scots. In the match, the Scoties (0-10, 0-3 CCS) played a consistent match and made the league-leading Scots (6-7, 3-0 CCS) work hard, but ultimately were unable to register a win on the day.
In the doubles, the Scotties were led by the pairing of
Leilah Lewinson and
Rosie Hagel, who fell by an 8-2 score at No. 2 doubles. At No. 1 doubles,
Allyson Gibbs and
Iris Ray fell by an 8-0 score, and at No. 3 doubles,
Katherine Cox and
Annaliese Denbleyker were able to get on the board early, but eventually fell, 8-1.
In singles, the Scots had to work hard against a consistent Agnes Scott defensive effort, but eventually prevailed in straight sets throughout the lineup. The tightest match of the day belonged to Denbleyker, who fell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6.
Iris Ray had the longest match of the day, falling 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot.
The Scotties will be back in action on Tuesday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. at Byers Tennis Center, taking on Mississippi University for Women.
