Scotties Fall in Regular Season Finale, 7-0

Pearson/Hendley Take Win at #2 Doubles

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Agnes Scott (4-9, 2-5 Collegiate Conference of the South) traveled to Huntingdon (5-11, 3-4 CCS) for their regular-season finale, dropping the match, 7-0. With the loss, the Scotties will be the #6 seed in the upcoming CCS Championship Tournament, and the Hawks are awarded the #5 seed as a result.

In the doubles, Huntingdon raced to wins at the #1 and #3 spots, but there was a shining moment for the Scotties, as the sophomore duo of Taylor Hendley and Feliz Pearson continued their strong first season as a pair, winning 6-4 over the Huntingdon pair of Athens DeVer and Ansley Lanier. Pearson and Hendley finish the season at 5-6 as a pair, picking up their third win in CCS play.

In singles, it was all Hawks, as the home team secured wins in straight sets at all six spots. There were some tight matches, however, as Pearson continued her strong day, falling 6-3, 7-5 at the #4 spot as Lanier gained revenge for her doubles defeat. Kennadi Reese also had a strong first set against Brown at the top spot, before falling 6-3, 6-0. Brown raised her conference singles record to 4-2 at the top spot. Sophia Dumitru-Rose also had a strong showing, falling 6-3, 6-1 to Anna Beth Adams at #5 singles.

The Scotties will now face off against #3-seeded Maryville College on Thursday at the CCS Championships, being hosted in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Live stats will be available.
