Hawks Tag Scotties for 2-0 Win

MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Huntingdon used two goals in the first and second half to down the Scotties 2-0 in the CCS Conference matchup this evening.

Agnes Scott will next travel to Lookout Mountain, Georgia for a CCS matchup against Covenant College on Wednesday, October 19th at 4:30 p.m.

Play was even for much of the first half with each team getting a handful of chances on the offensive end. Agnes Scott tried to take the lead first on a shot by Iris Ray at 6:21 but Huntingdon's Caroline Masker secured a save. The Hawks attacked first at 30:39 when Elizabeth Getz scored the first goal. Sophomore Peighton Freeman (Atlanta, Ga.) tried to answer for the Scotties at 35:19 on a shot but Caroline Masker was able to stop the attack with a goalie save. Huntingdon took a 1-0 lead at the half. The Scotties had two shots in the first half while Huntingdon had seven. 

Agnes Scott continued to press in its offensive zone, but was bitten by the counter twice in the second half. Huntingdon made the Scotties pay in transition in the 73rd minute when Allison Fisher scored the final goal for the Hawks to take the 2-0 victory.  

The Hawks outshot the Scotties 21-4 for the game.

Ashley Kopczyk made eight stops for the Scotties in full time.
