DECATUR, Ga. – Agnes Scott College women's volleyball team dropped a tough three-set bout to Fort Valley State University (22-25, 27-25, 18-25) inside Woodruff Gymnasium.
With the setback, ASC fell to 1-11 while the Wildcats moved to 5-10 on the season.
Following four late-match ties, the Wildcats was able to get a kill and a Scottie attack error for FVSU was the key two points of the night to edge out the 27-25 second set. The Wildcats took control in the middle of the third set and completed the 3-0 victory.
Junior Alex Roquemore (Dallas, Texas) led the way with 10 kills Summer Davis, Carmen Ross and Taylor Carnley contributed four kills apiece.
Carnley chipped in four kills, 21 assists, five digs and two blocks, while Alecia Holmes-Terry finished with 17 dig, two assists and an ace. Summer Davis had six digs for the defense.
ASC had its best set hitting in the second where it hit .098 with 12 kills and only eight errors.
For Fort Valley State, Laiani McCullough had the big night for the visitors as she downed 14 kills, hit .391, lined three aces and dug 10 attacks for the double-double. Setter Morgan Hebert added 26 assists, three kills, two aces and 10 digs for her own double-double.
Agnes Scott will travel to Montgomery, Alabama for matchups against Covenant and Huntingdon College on Saturday, October 2. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
