Box Score DECATUR, Ga.—A strong push early in the second half led Covenant College to a big victory over Agnes Scott in USA South women's soccer action on Saturday. The Scotties were able to hold the Scots without a goal for the first 22 minutes, but the Scots scored seven times in a 30-minute span to put the game on ice.
Kyra Duble opened the scoring for Covenant in the 22nd minute, finding some space right in front of the frame on a centered ball from Kailey Burrell. The Scots added two more before the halftime break for a 3-0 advantage.
The Scots pressured for more right out the intermission, scoring one minute into the second period before scoring three more over the next six minutes of action. Five different Scots got into the goal action with Megan Rasku, Lillie Cate and Burrell all netting two each.
Senior Abby Ackerson (Hoover, Ala.) made her first start in goal this spring, making 16 saves including several finger-tip stops pushed over the crossbar.
Agnes Scott will close its spring 2021 campaign on Wednesday when they host Wesleyan College at 3:30 p.m.
