Scottie Soccer Drops Season Debut at Huntingdon

Box Score

MONTGOMERY, Ala.—A massive advantage in depth pushed Huntingdon to a big winner in the season opener for Agnes Scott soccer on Wednesday evening. Thirteen different Hawks were able to get into the stat sheet for the dominant victory.

Limited to just 12 available players due to a variety of circumstances, Agnes faced an uphill battle with the Hawks sporting nearly three times as many. Huntingdon was able to keep its legs fresh while the Scotties faced constant pressure from the front six of the Hawks. In spite of it all, Agnes Scott's starting group never backed down throughout the 90 minutes of action.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Kopczyk (Elgin, Ill.) made 12 saves despite the loss and cut off several other fastbreak opportunities for Huntingdon that could have led to a larger deficit.

Agnes Scott will look to rebound in its home opener on Saturday when Brevard College comes to town for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
