Scotties Stopped by Lions, 8-1

DECATUR, Ga.—Senior Camille Wilson (Cincinnati, Ohio) won in singles' action for the fifth consecutive match, but Piedmont's depth proved too much for the Scotties in an 8-1 USA South Conference match.

The Lions took the season series from the Scotties after beating them 9-0 the first time around. Piedmont has now won nine straight matches after starting the season 0-2. Agnes Scott is now 2-11 in 2018 with four conference matches still to be played beginning with a long trip this weekend to Berea and Maryville.

The Scotties held early leads on two doubles courts, but the Lions found momentum down the stretch to sweep the lineup for a 3-0 lead.

Piedmont took the first five results of the singles lineup despite some great efforts from the Scotties until Wilson pulled out a solid 6-3, 6-3 win over Maggie Moody at the fifth flight.

Agnes Scott will look to break a three-match losing streak on Friday when they head up to Berea for a 4:30 p.m. start.
