MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Agnes Scott College volleyball team split their final two matches of the Huntingdon College Invitational, downing Pensacola Christian, 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-18), before falling in a 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 19-25, 29-27) defeat at the hands of LaGrange.

In the first match of the day, the Scotties (4-3) used a balanced attack to take down the Eagles, as they hit an excellent .256 as a team for the match. Resa Knott would be the standout player for the Scotties offensively for the day, putting down 9 kills on 16 attempts for a .562 hitting percentage in the match. Bella Kammerer and Anna Tomkins split setter duties, as they contributed 17 and 14 assists, respectively. On defense, Paige Heck and Bonnie Derks each had 9 digs, and Haley Payne had 8.

In the LaGrange match, the Scotties kept things exciting throughout, and both teams had exceptional offensive nights.  The Scotties would hit .283 for the match, but were outdone by the Panthers, who hit .404 for the match. Knott would again lead the way for the Scotties, logging 13 kills, 2.5 blocks, and hitting .522. Derks contributed a double-double, as she had 12 kills and 11 digs. Kammerer and Tomkins again split setting duties, as Kammerer had 14 assists, and Tomkins had 25. Payne reached double figures in digs, defending 14 attacks from the Panthers (9-4).

The Scotties return to action on Tuesday, September 20, as they travel to Toccoa Falls College for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
