Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - Agnes Scott College outshot their opponents, 40-1, in an 11-0 win over Hollins College (0-2) on the first day of the Meredith College Classic. Seven different Scotties scored for head coach Rosemary Davis, including three goals from First-Year forward Caitlynn Croft.
"I'm happy that we were able to create opportunities to score today," indicated Davis, "and it was good experience for some of our First-Year players who were able to get their first college goals under their belts."
The scoring started quickly for the Scotties, as Croft scored off an assist from Erin Innis 1:51 into the game. Eight minutes later, two more First-Years made their presence known, as Aina Stratton set up Zoey Perchaluk for her first goal of the season to bring the score to 2-0. Croft notched her second goal at the 25 minute mark, and the Scotties rolled from there in the first half. Also scoring for the Scotties in the first half were Stephanie Hicks, Sarah Fisher, and Camila Hernandez. Emily Duncan and Morgan Hoel were both credited with assists as well, and the Scotties went to halftime with a 6-0 lead.
In the second half, it was more of the same, as Perchaluk, Hicks and Croft would each score again, as would teammates Hallie Bates and Ashlyn Edwards. Stratton would add another assist on Hicks' second goal.
The Scotties will face off with host Meredith College, who handed defending GSAC Champion Salem College a 1-0 loss in the first game of the day. The match is scheduled for a noon start, and live stats will be available, courtesy of Meredith College.
