DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott College soccer team opened their season at home this afternoon, going down to defending USA South regular-season champion, Piedmont College, by a score of 7-0.

In the game, Agnes Scott struggled to defend against the speed of the Piedmont team (1-0), who pressed the tempo offensively throughout the contest.  The Scotties (0-1) were outshot 19-11, including 12 shots on goal for the visitors to only 4 for the Scotties.  The Scotties will join the USA South in the 2016 season, and the Lions are one of the premier teams in the league each year.  

The Scotties will look to rebound this weekend, when they head to Meredith College to take part in their weekend tournament.  The Scotties' first opponent of the weekend is Hollins College of the ODAC Conference.  They will play that contest on Saturday, September 5, at 2:15 p.m.
