Box Score In their first game of the season, leading off at home, the Agnes Scott soccer team defeated Huntingdon College 2-0.
"It was a solid game for us. We still need time to gel as a team, but I was very proud of the way we played" remarked second year head coach Rosie Davis. Watch Coach Davis' post-game interview.
First-year Morgan Hoel (Douglasville, Ga.,/Omega Private Academy) scored the first goal 25 minutes into the first half. Senior Maddie Shaul (Kennesaw, Ga.,/North Cobb H.S.) scored the final goal 12 minutes into the second half with an assist from Hoel.

Carrying out Agnes Scott's defense were junior Ciara Micacchione, sophomore Catherine Pratt and first-years Rachel Dodson and Meklit Tilahun.
Working with a mixture of upperclass players and first-years, the Scotties did a great job of keeping the ball out of Huntingdon's reach. The Scotties outshot Huntingdon 15 to 4. Junior Sydney Holstad (Peachtree City, Ga./McIntosh) played 90 minutes in goal and recorded six saves.
The Scotties will be back in action next Thursday September 11 as they travel to Piedmont College for a 7 p.m. match.
