Soccer Falls to Piedmont 1-0

Box Score

Following a 2-0 win over Huntingdon College last weekend, the Agnes Scott soccer team lost to Piedmont College 1-0 this evening in Demorest, Ga.  Piedmont was voted number one in the USA South pre-season poll earlier this year.

"I'm so proud of the way we played tonight. We played a tough opponent and we were in the game every minute. I'm most excited about what we learned and how we'll apply it moving forward" remarked head coach Rosie Davis.

Helene Somda led the Scotties with three shots including two on goal. Morgan Hoel and Catherine Pratt each had one shot.

Goalkeeper Sydney Holstad played 90 minutes in goal and recorded six saves with 17 shots faced.

Agnes Scott will host a three game home streak as they face Kenyon College on September 14 at noon.  The Scotties will face Capital at home on September 19 and then Birmingham Southern on the 21. Admission to home games is always free.
