DECATUR, Ga. - The Agnes Scott women's soccer team faced an offensive-minded Berry Vikings (7-2) team this afternoon, falling 5-0 to the visitors, having to deal with 20 shots on goal throughout the match.  The Scotties fall to 2-5 with the loss.

The Vikings used goals from five different players, with sophomore goalkeeper Ivy MacIntyre still managing 15 saves on the day.  The Scotties only chances to score came in the second half, with senior Maddie Shaul having the only shot on goal for the afternoon.  Overall, Berry outshot Agnes Scott, 31-2.  Berry's only losses on the season have come to the #3 and #5 team in the nation, respectively.

"We had some positive individual efforts out there today," commented Scotties head coach Rosemary Davis, "but we didn't seem able to connect with one another out there, so we need to do a better job of playing as a team."

The Vikings started the scoring in the 25th minutes, as Isabel Fornuto drove an unassisted goal just over the outstretched arms of MacIntyre, glancing off of her fingertips.  Shortly thereafter, Lauren Sykora shot the ball from deep in the right corner, bending it into the opposite upper corner for the second goal of the game.  The Vikings would tack on three more goals early in the second half.

The Scotties will look to reverse their fortunes on Saturday, October 4, when they open GSAC Conference play at home against Salem College, the defending GSAC Champions.  Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m., and admission is free to the public.
