Box Score The Agnes Scott College soccer team ended the regular season today with a 0-1 loss to Covenant College. With the loss, the Scotties remain the #2 seed for the Great South Athletic Conference and will face Huntingdon College in the semi-finals on Saturday November 3 at 2:00 p.m.
During half-time Agnes Scott recognized the six senior players: Marissa Roecks, Claire Cusack, Janelle Sourbeer, Dana Smith, Clara Kienzle and Ashley Watts.
Marissa Roecks #16 Kenmore, WA (Forward)
Marissa is a Psychology major from Kenmore Washington. She is a two year member of the soccer team after having transferred in from Warren Wilson College where she was the team's leading goal scorer her sophomore season. Marissa carries a 3.63 GPA and will be a two time member of the Great South Athletic Conference All Academic Team.
Claire Cusack # 4 Johnson City TN (Midfielder)
Claire is a Psychology major from Johnson City Tennessee. She is a three year letter winner having started 43 of the 53 games she has played in. Claire has four goals and two assists in her career. Claire carries a 3.97 GPA and will be a three year member of the Great South Athletic Conference All Academic Team.
Janelle Sourbeer #10 Belleair Florida (Forward)
Janelle is Biology major from Belleair Florida. She is a four year member of the team and will be a three year letter winner as she studied abroad last season. Janelle has started 47 of 56 games she has played and has scored five goals with four assists in her career. Janelle has 3.52 GPA and will be a two time member of the Great South Athletic Conference All Academic Team.
Dana Smith #6 Stone Mountain Georgia (Defender)
Dana is Psychology major from Stone Mountain Georgia. She is four year member of the team and will be a three year letter winner. Dana is one of the three captains this year and has played in 62 games over her four year career. Dana has 3.55 GPA and will be a three time member of the Great South Athletic Conference All Academic Team.
Clara Kienzle #2 Athens Georgia (Forward)
Clara is Biology major from Athens Georgia. She is a four year letter winner having started 74 games over that time. She has scored 30 goals in her career which is second most in the schools' history. Clara carries a 3.60 GPA and will be a three time Great South Athletic Conference All Academic Team member. In addition Clara was an All Freshman team award winner and has been an All Conference award winner for the past two seasons.
Ashley Watts #0 Dallas Georgia (Goalkeeper)
Ashley is Psychology major from Dallas Georgia. She is a four year letter winner and has started 50 of the 59 games she has played in. She has recorded 22 wins in her four years and holds the career record in shutouts with 17. She is one of the three captains this year and was a Great South Athletic Conference All Freshman team member in 2009.
The Scotties will host the Great South Athletic Conference tournament November 2-4. Admission will be $5 on Friday, $10 on Saturday and $5 on Sunday.
