LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Agnes Scott basketball team gave Collegiate Conference of the South opponent, LaGrange, all they could handle in a 73-67 loss on the road this afternoon.
Zania Gay led the Scotties with 20 points, while freshman classmate
Anissa Brailsford was all over the floor, racking up a double-double by scoring 16 points and pulling down 17 rebounds.
The Scotties had several highlights on the evening, as they out-rebounded the Panthers (11-10, 5-7 CCS)Â by 50-46, while also shooting their best for the season, shooting 45.5% from the field, including making 35.3% from behind the 3-point arc. Both were season highs, and it was the second straight game where the Scotties set the season mark in shooting percentage, as they made 40.7% of their shots against Asbury in their last time out.
Also making significant contributions for the Scotties were
Laila Williams (19 points, 4 assists, 3 steals) and
Sydney Evans (7 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks). The Scotties (2-18, 1-10 CCS) look to carry positive momentum into Senior Night on Thursday, as they host Wesleyan College (0-19, 0-12 CCS) and celebrate the accomplishments of Evans,
Ivey Portis, and
Lindsay Moore. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
