Scotties' Buzzer-Beater Stuns Owls in 75-72 Overtime Thriller

Heroics Seal Agnes Scott's Victory on the Road

Coach Trone led the way for Agnes Scott College Scotties Basketball team and their will when facing off against a resilient Warren Wilson team.

Agnes Scott College Basketball vs Warren Wilson final score 75-72: Our Scotties in the 4th qtr vs a hustling Owls team was down by 3pt with the score at 66-63. With 1.2 seconds on the game clock, our Scotties in-bound the ball and advanced it with seamless execution to half court where #12 Lindsay Moore fired off the basketball with only one Owl defender at her left side. The buzzer's sound off was no match for the Scotties bench as Moore's half court shot claimed nothing but NET! Imagine the sound of swish for a glimpse of perfection.

Managing hardship with offensive charge calling, bypassing technical skill calls on the Owls, and with Interim Head Coach Trone's technical foul in the 3rd period the Scotties were in an adverse situation with the officiating crew indefinitely. The start of the 4th period simmered on medium as the table crew and official coordinated about whether or not Moore's buzzer killer was legal. No one could deny her execution. And the Scotties took the floor coming in HOT and READY to dominate the 5 min overtime (OT) ahead.

The crowd was loud, the benches were locked in with engagement on both sides, and our Scotties were mentally and physically prepared to initiate operation No Flight Zone on the Owls. Making it interesting. A hair puller and heel stomper for both Coach Martin and Trone.

Both teams fought hard, recognizing unforced errors then correcting them, and nailing free-throw opportunities at their respective goals. The starting OT score compared to the final game score proved the fight was ON! #3 Lailah Williams appeared at the line twice in OT at crucial moments nailing all 4 shots and Moore was 3/4 in OT at the line as well. The Owls led in OT for short periods. The Scotties answered every time. Finishing the game with a well deserved 75-72 victory on the road. The sound of Let's Go Scotties is always so SWEET!

The Scotties secure their first victory of the season hopefully leading the way to many more!
