BREVARD, N.C. – Agnes Scott couldn't overcome the outside shooting of Brevard College as the Tornadoes secured a 70-52 win Sunday afternoon at home. Agnes Scott College falls to 1-20 overall while Brevard College improves to 12-8 on their second win over the Scotties this season.
Brevard knocked down seven 3-pointers, three coming in the first two quarters when the Tornadoes built a 29-23 halftime lead. Agnes Scott clawed back trailing only by six points at the half. The Scotties then collected 12 points to in the third quarter with the host securing 21. ASC then finished the contest with 17 points in the final stanza. The Tornadoes then cruised adding 20 points to take the 70-52 victory.
The Scotties also outrebounded the Tornadoes 46-39 and took advantage of many second chances as they grabbed 20 offensive boards to just 14 for Agnes Scott.
YaMea Elliot-Allen scored 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks to lead the Scotties.
Lindsay Moore added 10 points and three rebounds and
Kayla Jones and
Erika McLeod both contributing nine points each respectively. McLeod led the team in rebounds with 14.
The Scotties will return to action on Wednesday, February 9
th as they host the final home game of the regular season hosting the Scots of Covenant College. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. inside Woodruff Gymnasium.
