Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Oglethorpe blanks Agnes Scott 9-0 Saturday

DECATUR, Ga. ----The Oglethorpe women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over Agnes Scott College at the Byers Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon. Despite the results of the match the Scotties played some very exciting tennis today.

"Overall, the goal today was to come out and manage ourselves and to play some good tennis, and I think that is exactly what we did," head coach Keva Godfrey said. "We took care of the things we could control on our end: high first serve percentages, good returns in the court and we hustled and we stayed focused."

Scotties first year Viviana Turner (Leavenworth, Kan.) and first year Brandy Nalyanya (Aurora, Colo.) secured a set victory before Izzy Foster and Lily Allyene (Anderson, S.C.) took the 8-1 victory at the number one doubles flight. Leilah Lewinson (Lithonia, Ga.) and Katiuska Toral Castillo (Columbus, Ohio) yielded a 8-0 decision at the number two doubles spot.
