DECATUR, Ga. - Despite a good effort by the Agnes Scott College tennis team to open the 2022 season they suffered a 9-0 loss to Albany State University on Wednesday.
"For the match today, I think we played okay. There was some good stuff, but I think, across the board, I'm not sure that everybody felt like they probably executed as well as they might have wanted to. It was pretty encouraging that during the singles contest the team stepped it up" said Head Tennis Coach
Keva Godfrey.
Albany State University won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches.
Asia Raulerson (No. 1), Doylisha Copeland (No. 2), Bianca Leao (No. 3), Carla Sorroche (No. 4), Allyah Williams (No. 5) and Sumana Panauganti (No. 6) each won all singles matches in straight sets.
In doubles, the team of Copleand-Raulerson (No. 1) won 8-0, the team of Williams-Leao (No. 2) won 8-0 and the team of Sorroche-Panauganti (No. 3) won 8-0.
The Scotties had four first years that made their collegiate debut playing an NCAA DII opponent.
