Hawks Roll Past the Scotties, 74-54

DECATUR, Ga. – The Agnes Scott College basketball team returned back on the floor on Tuesday night in USA South Conference action. The Scotties hosted the Hawks of Huntingdon College. ASC fell behind early as they struggled to score in the first half, tallying only 18 points. The Hawks continued to grow its lead after halftime, where the Scotties continued to add points but trailed by as many as 30 before dropping their league game, 74-54.

  • Kayla Jones led the team with 17 points (2-for-6, 3FGs), four rebounds, four assists and four steals. 
  • YaMea Elliot-Allen contributed 12 points and two rebounds
  • Sydney Evans rounded out the double digit scoring for the Scotties with 10 points, team-high eight rebounds, one block and two steals.  

INSIDE THE BOX
  • The Scotties scored eight points in the paint while the Hawks also scored eight.
  • ASC had 11 offensive rebounds, but only scored six second chance points. The Hawks had 29 offensive rebounds and scored 24 second chance points.
  • Agnes Scott struggled in the first half from the field shooting only 33.3%, finishing with a 41.1%. Huntingdon shot 39.7% from the field.

The Scotties will travel to Demorest, Georgia for a conference match-up against the Lions of Piedmont University on Saturday, February 5th. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
