Decatur, Ga. - Agnes Scott soccer hosted the Collegiate Conference of the South Women's Soccer Tournament First Round with a 1-0 triumph over the Wolves of Wesleyan College, to improve their season to 2-11-1, 0-7-1, and ending Wesleyan's season at 0-13-1, 0-6-1.
Agnes Scott pulled ahead when Iris Ray scored the only point of the game with a penalty kick goal at 25:24. Iris played all 90 minutes with eight shots and four shots on goal.
This game was a turnaround rematch from the Agnes Scott/Wesleyan regular season final game which ended in a 1-1 tie.
It was a thrilling match to begin the tournament with 14 total shots and four shots on goal for the Wolves and 23 shots and 12 shots on goal for the Scotties. Wesleyan had 11 saves by goalie Angel Lockett while Agnes Scott came through with four saves by Scottie's senior goalie, Ashley Kopczyk.
The Scotties will travel to Demorest, Georgia on Saturday, October 29 for the CCS Women's Soccer tournament quarterfinals taking on the Lions of Piedmont University
