DECATUR, Ga. - Agnes Scott soccer team closed out another CCS conference home contest hosting the Blazers of Belhaven University yielding a 4-0 decision this afternoon at Gellerstedt Field.
The Scotties (1-9, 0-6) struggled on both ends of the field against the Blazers (6-4-2, 4-1-0).
The Blazers came out firing in the first period of the match with one goal from Emma Antonoplos followed by the second goal of the game by Lizbeth Eslava with an assist from Kyla Shaw.
The Scotties put up a good fight by closing the opening half with four shots and 12 saves to the Blazers 26 shots and four saves.
The Scotties fought through the second half with two shots and 10 saves.
The Blazers continued their momentum in the second half with an additional two saves and 22 shots. A third goal was brought in from Kyla Shaw with a fourth by Abby Linn with an assist from Isabela Villagrand, bringing the score to 4-0.
First-year
Iris Ray led the Scotties with five shots with five shots on goal.
Carsun Neubauer recorded one shot with one shot on goal. Agnes Scott finished out the contest with six shots and 22 saves.
The Blazers closed out with 48 shots and six saves.
Despite allowing four goals, Scottie's goalkeeper
Ashley Kopczyk also collected an impressive 19 saves.
Agnes Scott will now play two of its next games on the road before returning home on October 22
nd hosting the Wolves of Wesleyan College at Gellerstedt Field.
