Box Score MACON, Ga.—Middle Georgia State University shook off a wild first set before settling down to beat visiting Agnes Scott in three sets on Thursday evening. The Knights improve to 5-10, while the Scotties drop to 0-19.
Summer Davis (Atlanta, Ga.) was the leading offensive player for the Scotties with five kills, while
Zoie Pace and
Alex Roquemore set up four kills each.
Ariel Henderson finished with seven digs.
The Knights held a 12-6 lead at the halfway point of the opening game, but a strong counter from the Knights saw them win 14 of the next 19 points to pull away for a 25-16 victory.
The Scotties could never quite recover from the opening set loss as the Knights found their groove on offense in the second and third stanzas to keep a safe distance between the two sides. Middle Georgia State won the second set 25-16 and the deciding set 25-4.
Agnes Scott will next continue its road trips traveling to Gallatin, Tennessee for a non-conference matchup against the Flames of Welch College on Thursday, October 13
