LAGRANGE, Ga.—Host LaGrange College outlasted Agnes Scott Soccer on Saturday afternoon at Panthers Field by the final score of 4-0. The Hawks scored once in the first half, but the game remained tight until a pair of goals for the home side over the final half of regulation.
In the first half each side totaled shot attempts with the Scotties collecting one while the Panthers finished with eight. LaGrange's goal from Sydney Dailey in the 25
th minute was the only difference between the two sides over the first 45 minutes.
LaGrange's depth proved vital in the second half as the Panthers wore down the Scotties to the tune of a 16-1 shot advantage. Agnes Scott was able to keep things close on the defensive end for much of the period, but open its scoring in the second half at the 53:57 mark on a goal Madison Dekker.
LaGrange finally added its finals goals in the 67
th and 74
th minutes with strikes from Briana Suarez and Makenzi Maltezo.
Ashley Kopczyk (Elgin, Ill.) took the loss in goal for the Scotties despite making four saves.
Marilyn Bates (Peachtree City, Ga.) registered one shot for the Scotties.
Agnes Scott (1-7, 0-3 CCS) will continue its road travel with a trip to Berea, Kentucky for a conference match-up against Berea College on October 8
th for a 1 p.m. start.
