BEREA, K.Y. – Agnes Scott College couldn't overcome a slow start in a 63-40 women's basketball loss to Berea College at the Seabury Center on Saturday.
The Scotties fell behind 19-4 at the end of the first period. Both teams ended the second quarter with 14 points with the host taking a 33-18 advantage at the half.
The biggest highlight for the Scotties (0-11 overall, 0-5 USA South) was the points off turnovers. Agnes Scott finished scoring 12 points off turnovers including a double-double performance with 12 points and 11 rebounds from
YaMea Elliot-Allen her first of the season.
Ivey Portis added nine points and three rebounds.
Lindsay Moore contributed seven points for the purple and black.
Taylor Brooks and Sydney Evans, who started for the Scotties, also added six and four points.
Bailee Vanover and Aaliyah Hampton scored 16 points each for Berea College (10-3 overall, 5-0 USA South).
The Scotties will return to action on Wednesday, January 12
th as they return home to host the Lions of Piedmont University Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
